Greetings Lions, Lioness and friends April 2007 April is a busy month. Everyone should be preparing to attend
the 27-C2 District Convention April 27-28th
at The Holiday Inn Express in Rhinelander. This year’s convention will feature a
Spanish/Mexican Fiesta theme for the Friday night social. Be ready to do the Macarena! There also will be door prizes
throughout the evening, including a prize for the best theme costume. Take special note that the Necrology Service has
been changed to Saturday afternoon. Lion Kate, a Lion’s Camp alumnus, will be
singing Amazing
Grace. If your
Lions or Lioness Club has had a deceased member since the last District
Convention, please get their name and a picture, if possible, to Lions Mark
Bares 1401 E. 10th
St. Merrill, WI 54452 or email to
[email protected]. Another FYI is that the Sat. Honors Banquet chicken
selection is a chicken breast stuffed with asparagus and cheese served with a
bed of rice. We are also proud to
be honoring our District and State Peace Poster winner, Brian Iltis, at the
noon luncheon. Our Leader Dog
speaker, Lenny Quinn and his dog, Mikey, will also be a highlight of the
luncheon. We hope that many of you
will take the opportunity to talk to our District Council as well as our
International Director Guest, Steven Sherer and his wife, Lion Mary Ellen,
from New Philadelphia, Ohio. This
is your convention-make the most of it! Also contained in this newsletter is information on
and about the State Lions Convention to be held in Oconomowoc, WI, May 18th & 19th, 2007, hosted by the Watertown
Lions. The new format should make
this convention exciting. Club Secretaries please remember to get your PU 101s
completed and submitted. They are
what VDG/PDG Harry Helwig will build his State/Multiple District Directory on
and he must have it into the State Office before June. Wishing
everyone a Happy and Blessed Easter.
Yours in
Lionism, District
Governor Dennis, |
